“The rules are… there ain’t no rules!”

Happy Thursday!

I hope you're all well and finding time to create? It's half term here for my kiddos so time to create is few and far between, but I managed to squeeze in a little ;)

Today I am going back to the summer of 1958 and one of my all time favourite films, Grease. When I saw the You Rock stamp set from Avery Elle, I instantly had a flash of memories from watching this film. The drive in, the diner scenes and the dancing. This was the inspiration for my cards today...

For my first card today I wanted to use the ice cream / drink image with the cherry on top. My starting idea was to stamp the checkered border across the bottom of my card at an angle and I wanted it to be on the base card too, so I used my stamping platform to achieve this.

I used a trio of colours that come to me when I think of this era, red, aqua, pink with lots of black and white! I really like how this one turned out that I went on to make a second card. My second card is a one layer card & I wanted to use the juke box with the border stamp.

This time I stamped the checked design across my card and then over stamped the juke box. I've added the same colours and accented the card with the music notes and disc.

Apart from the nod to the film Grease, what I particularly like about this set is that it is gender neutral making it easy to make both feminine and masculine cards as I have done here today.

I hope I have added a bit of

'Ra ma la ma la ma ka dinga kading a dong
Shoo wop shoo waddy waddy yippity boom de boom
Chang chang changity chang shoo bop
Dip da dip da dip doo wop da doo dee doo
Boogedy boogedy boogedy boogedy shooby shoo wop shoo wop
Sha na na na na na na na, yipity dip de boom'

to your day!
