Birthday Birds

Birthday Birds

I have two simple cards for you today which are bright and quite simple to make. The Happy Birthday Block is one of those dies that does all the work for you and I cut it twice with two squares of cardstock so I could stack both the negative piece and the letters, making them double layer gives them a bit of dimension on the card front.... you could even go for three layers if you wanted too!

Now for the fun colourful bit.... on two square card bases I masked around the edges and blended distress oxide ink in three colours. Next I had to do the magical water spritz to make that spotty pattern... never tire of that bit!

When they were dry I added the negative piece to one and the lettering to another. I use a spare die cut as a guide to adhere the letters through for placement, its handy to keep it with the die for future use.

I added  a couple of little cuties from Mama Elephants Chick and Penguin Agenda sets and coloured their accessories to match the background. Unfortuneatley the penguins are out of stock at the moment but these backdrops would work with many images and any colourscheme.... I think that chickie with the cake has to be my favourite though :)

Thanks for stopping by and catch you next week :)
