Birthday Burst!

Birthday Burst!

Cards for men can be pretty tricky and even if they have a hobby, there is only so many ways it can feature on a card so sometimes alphabet stamps can come to the rescue....

To start this card I wanted to use the new Confetti All Around die from MFT as I think its a great die to highlight images or words on a card front so I cut that onto a panel of white card. I decided on a colour scheme for my letters and used the Simple Alpha dies and the Background Blocks stamps to make the sentiment, you could of course use patterned papers instead if you wanted to.

I used my Distress Oxides because .... well, I love them and they also layer colour quite nicely.... I used the solid square to stamp out the swatch and added pattern to some of the blocks. I did need a couple of extra blocks, it depends on the letters you need, then worked out which letters to cut from which colour or pattern. I used foam pads to attach some of the letters above others and stamped extra stars using the same colours for embellishment.

Behind the panel I sponged yellow ink onto the card blank and added yellow stickles for a glittery finish to sparkle through that burst. The card was originally going to be the usual C6 size but an inky smudge put pay to that as I couldn't hide it and had to make it square instead.... it still works just fine though :)

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
