Bring The Desert Vibes To Your Birthday Cards: Inspiration And Ideas

Hey there crafty friends, Terri here! Today I am sharing how to bring the desert vibes to your birthday cards using the Critters in the desert stamp set from Lawn Fawn.

I start by stamping all of my images onto 80lb super smooth cardstock, using an alcohol friendly black ink. I then colour my images with my alcohol markers and use a white gel pen to add highlights. I then run the images through my die cut machine using the Critters in the Desert die set. I always colour and then cut! How about you?

To create the shaker element for the card, I started by die cutting a stitched rectangle. I then used the Ta-Da Diorama Sunburst Window Add-On to create an apperture in that panel.  I then added Acetate to the reverse. I then used some 3D Foam Strips around the apperture (on the reverse) this will house the sequins.

I cut a piece of the Watercolor Wishes 6x6 Paper Pad to measure 4" by 5.25" and adhered this to an A2 card blank. I adhered the birthday cake image into the space behind the apperture and then added the sequins. before removeing the release tape from the foam strips I dusted the edges fo the tape with my anti static tool. This helps to stop the shaker elements sticking to any exposed adhesive. I then added the apperture panel onto the card base trapping the sequins in place.

I stamped and heat embossed my seniment elements onto black card using White Embossing Powder and an Embossing Ink Pad. Next I started to add the die cut images to the card front, I added the sentiments using foam pads. This is when I relaised that I wanted to add some die cut clouds to the scene. I used the small cloud die from the Ta-Da Diorama Sunburst Window Add-On.

I am so happy with how this card turend out. I have lots more ideas for desert themed birthday cards in the futre, I'm sure I'll share more with you.
