Colourful Whimsical Wings

Colourful Whimsical Wings

Hi everyone!

I'm not sure if you ever feel the same, but sometimes I just need a bit of a crafty pick-me-up and having some time out with pretty colours and shades of ink usually does me the world of good.

Ink swatching is often a go-to method for me, but I also like to pull out a set of stencils and just spend some time selecting colours and inking away.

I particularly love stencils that give you lots of colour options to play with, and one such set is the Whimsical Wings layering stencil set from Concord and 9th.

There are colour suggestions included with the set, which has two design options. The first creates a full background design, and the second creates a background where you fill in the white space with the Whimsical Wings butterfly from the coordinating stamp set and/or die set.

I was in need of some non-bulky cards for posting and so I kept things simple and stencilled the outline and then added the butterfly in the middle, keeping it minimal and just stamping the body and wings without filling in the rest.

I didn't want to cover up any of the butterfly, so I took a sentiment from the Mama Elephant Birthday Messages set and stamped it on a banner strip from The Greetery's PreText Banners set and attached it at the bottom.

And there we have it, a new card for the card basket and spirits lifted in the most relaxing way possible.

Until next time, happy crafting!
