Every Day Labels His and Hers

Every Day Labels His and Hers

Happy New Year everyone - hope you had a great festive season and the new year is treating you well.

I'm back on the blog today with a couple of cards using mostly the same products from The Greetery but giving one a more masculine twist as we're commonly asked for "ideas for cards for men".

I'm a big deco fan so I love the new Every Day Labels and love that the matching die works with the Handmade labels too.  Here I used just the one birthday sentiment with the matching die on both my cards, paired with Deco Frames to emphasise the deco feeling.

For the girly card, I added some stamped and die cut floral elements using the Floral Delicacy set.   I find it easier to die cut first and then stamp as the shapes make it easier to put the elements in the right place.   I opted for shades of peach and yellow with the greens and kept all the background colours in the same shades for a cohesive look.

I wanted a card for a guy too, so whilst I had the stash out, I thought I'd try using it for a more mascule look - so no flowers - but leaves are not overly feminine so I opted for a monocrhome look in shades of green and used BotaniCuts Ginkgo as my decorative element.   I die cut them from 3 shades of green card and used an ancient metallic rub-on set to highlight the embossed detail.  If you want the details to stand out more without rub-ons - once die cut, run the leaves back through the machine whilst still in the die but with an embossing mat and the details will be deeper and more crisp.

Hope that gives you a couple of ideas of how colour and theme can twist your supplies into very different looks.

NEWS FROM THE STORE

Apologies if you haven't received your orders yet.   There are a couple of reasons for this:

1)  Royal Mail - they were inundated with mail in the run up to Christmas and we know from our collection driver that they have still been clearing the backlog in the New Year due to sheer numbers processed and also the number of staff isolating due to Covid.  As Sheffield has the highest rates outside London at the moment our depots have been very hard hit.   We hope they will catch up soon but once parcels leave us they are beyond our control.   We are therefore allowing an extra week for them to clear the system in the UK so our standard time of 14 days until a parcel is classed as lost is now 21 days after the date of shipping.

2)  Our backlog - the Boxing Day (week) sale was more popular that we anticipated and as such we're behind our normal very fast order processing timescale.   For those of you who think we have a huge team - we don't - it's just me and Rick!   So we're doing our very best to catch up and got as far as orders that arrived on the morning of New Years Eve on Friday.    We'll pack as fast as we can tomorrow onwards and hope to be back to our standard 1-3 day shipping by the end of the week.

Thanks for your patience whilst we and the mail catch up.

Happy Crafting
