Floral Birthdays

Floral Birthdays

Morning all! I’ve mentioned before that January is a busy time for our family and friends for birthdays, so today I’ve got a couple of floral cards to share with you. Both cards feature Concord & 9th’s In Bloom stamp set.

First up is a square card. I stamped the large flower image with black ink and used the masking stencils to add colour to the flowers and leaves. I like this set of stencils as it gives lots of different looks. For this card I also used the masking stencil to add strips to the background. I trimmed the panel to size and rounded the corners with scissors. I added a tiny birthday greeting towards the bottom right corner and layered the panel on grey and yellow mat layers, and finally added it to the front of the note card.

Inside the card, I cut a mat layer from yellow card. On the white panel I added a fun birthday greeting, along with some more flowers.

I used watercolour marker pens to add colour to the stamp and then lightly spritzed the image with water. I stamped the image onto regular white card and allowed it to sit for a while to transfer all the ink. I really like the way this technique gives a nice watercolour look to the stamped image. I’m an artist!! After the image had completely dried, I added a large birthday greeting at the top and layered the panel on to a red mat layer and added it to the front of the card.

Inside the card I cut a mat layer of red card, and on the white panel stamped a birthday greeting along with another of the flowers.

That’s all from me today. I hope everyone is keeping safe and well. See you next week.
