Floral Spotlights

Todays project is an exercise in saving a card that was destined for the bin, yep, I'm sure we've all had one of those ideas that didnt quite turn out as you had envisaged but instead of sending it to the bin have you thought of recycling it? I had used Concord & 9th's Wildflower fields stamp to make a cluster of colourful flowers on a landscape slim card but wasn't happy with it so I used a basic set of circle dies to cut spotlights from the scene...
and this is the remnant of the piece I cut them from...
A definite improvement don't you think? I just selected a few sizes of circle dies and cut areas to include flowers and stems then after laying them in exactly the same position on a panel of card, I played around with them to overlap the shapes and came up with a slightly different layout.
I've used a couple of the dies to make circle masks and blended ink through them softly, to add some solid circles to the design. The circles are adhered at different heights with foam dimensionals and the sentiment is from Wplus9 Strictly Sentiments 5... it fitted the gap just perfectly!
I'm pleased I managed to salvage the card destined for scrap and I really love the new design too.... what do you think? Have you been successful with recycling a crafting mistake?
Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
