Hap-pea Greetings

Hap-pea Greetings

I love clean and simple cards, they're not the easiest to make and sometimes it's hard to know when to stop and leave the white space alone but I think I got the balance right on today's card.....

Despite using the coordinating dies for the images from Lawn Fawns Be Hap-pea stamp set, I did do some fussy cutting so I could paper piece the pods and peas. I love the mix of patterned and plain paper/card and I used the rule of three to arrange the coloured elements on the card front in a triangular shape. I've used my scoring board to make a criss cross netting pattern for a subtle background.

I adhered the larger pieces with foam pads to the embossed panel and just stacked one or two layers behind the slim die-cuts for extra dimension. Another technique I had forgotten about is to use the blade of a pair of scissors to rough the edge of the panel... I like the distressed result. Time to step aside and leave well alone... I love that pop of green against all that white.

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
