Happy Birthday, Hot Dog

Happy Birthday, Hot Dog

Hey stampers, Anni here!

I think I've told you before but I have four nephews between 16 and 23. Especially the teenage boys are so difficult to make a card for. But now I found a stamp set that I think they will love: Avery Elle's Hot Dog. They all like dogs so I think they will like the funny images. I myself find this dog balloon just too cute.

I started by stamping the dog and the balloon I wanted to use and coloured them with pencils. To cut out the images there are coordinating dies available.

For the background I cut down a narrow strip of white cardstock where the dog and his balloon would fit on. For some grass and sky I added inkblending in green and turquoise. I added some droplets of water to get a little bit of structure.

I thought the scene needed something else so I went for clouds. I found a cloud die in the perfect size in Lawn Fawn's Foursquare Backdrop: Portrait.

I die cut two from white cardstock and one from vellum for a little bit of variation.

The sentiment for my card came from the Hot Dog set. I stamped and heat embossed it in white on a strip of black cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty weekend.

Anni
