Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday

Good morning! We’ve had a wonderful couple of days here in North Wales with bright sunshine and warmth!! And me, I still like to play inside in my craft room. I’ve made a couple of clean, simple birthday cards using products from Concord & 9th. I’ve used Concord & 9th’s Perfect Pairings dies for both my cards. The first uses the words:

It's really hard to take photos of holographic card! I die cut the words die from some holographic mirri card in my stash – the card has a firework image and it really sparkles when you move the card. I used black card to make the side folding A2 notecard. I wanted to keep the card reasonably flat, so I adhered the die cut words directly to the notecard.

On the inside, I cut a piece of silver mirri card for the mat layer and on the white panel I stamped a birthday greeting from the Let’s Party Turnabout stamp set and added some party confetti using one of the images from Yay for Birthdays.

My next features the balloon die from Perfect Pairings. I used another sheet of holographic card – with lots of mini circles in the holographic pattern – and adhered the die cut piece to the side of an A2 notecard. You can cut the balloons from lots of coloured card and do the in-lay die technique, but I wanted to keep it simple and allow the holographic shine to be the star. I stamped a birthday greeting from the Let’s Party Turnabout stamp set in Versamark and heat embossed it with silver.

On the inside, I cut a piece of the same holographic card for the mat layer. On the white panel I stamped the word ‘Yay’ using the two-step stamps from Yay for Birthdays.

I love the clean, crisp look of these cards. I'm pleased that you can see the holographic effect in the photos - I was a bit surprised too :) I’ll be playing with the dies again soon, only this time I’ll be using colours! That’s all from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by. See you next week.
