Hippo Pool Party

Hippo Pool Party

Hi stampers, Anni here!

I am back with another summer card. As long summer is here, I am using all my fun sunny and beachy sets.
And for this card I went for the super cute Hippo Pool Party from Reverse Confetti. I combined it with Party Animals (also by Reverse Confetti) because I wanted to make a birthday card.

It’s easy to mix and match stamps from one company as the images have the same style and the lines the same width. I think these two things are most important when you want to combine stamps from different stamp sets.

I started by stamping all the images I wanted to use and coloured them using pencils. To cut out the images there are coordinating dies available (you can find them here and here).

For the background I used ink blending once again. I die cut a sandy hill using Mama Elephant’s Landscape Trio. I used three shades of brown for the beach, two lighter tones and one darker to create the blobs.

For the sky I ink blended over My Favorite Things’ Mini Cloud Edge Stencil. For me it is hard to get a soft blend. I always seem to use too much ink and it gets too dark. To make the sky less dominant I blended over the whole sheet to soften the contrast.

I stamped one of the sentiments from on a stripe of pink paper and cut it in two pieces because that worked better with my layout. Then I arranged all the pieces and ahgered them using dimensional adhesive.

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty weekend.
