Mod Turnabout

Mod Turnabout

I know lots of you find turnabouts tricky, so today I wanted to share how easy one of the latest ones is to use even without a plaform.   For my card today I've just gone super simple, a mod turnabout background aligned by eye using 4 turns and 4 colours (Tidepool, Juniper, Lemongrass and Pebble)

Now conventional wisdom with turnabouts is to use a jig and a platform and turn your paper.  I've never found that method great for me.  I simply label the 4 sides of the back of my stamp A - D, start stamping with A at the top on a 6x6 square, then turn to B and line it up my eye - I use the clear carrier sheet instead of a block as this elimates the offset you can get.  With some turnabouts it can be tricky to do it this way but with the mod, its really easy to see by eye where to place the next turn.

Once I'd filled my background I decided to add a little interest by stamping one shape in each colour and fussy cutting them out so I can stack them up on foam pads for some depth.  I thought this colour scheme had a slight masculine feel so I just went with a very simple birthday sentiment (from The Greetery's Make a Wish) stamped onto a strip of juniper cardstock to match.

If you've not tried a turnabout this way then I highly recommend this one as the one to trial.
