One panel two ways

One panel two ways

Sorry the blog is late today, I've been a creative writing workshop today for a bit of me time so I've been busy writing about poppy seeds...   Anyhow I did make a couple of cards earlier so I'll share them now.

The first is a card I made for a friend's birthday this week - the starting point was the new Sweet Lattice Panel Die from Waffle Flower - I love a full size card front panel die and this one with the shape to pop the sentiment in the centre seemed really versatile to me for both feminine and masculine cards.  The new Sweet Lattice Panel sentiments fit perfectly but so will lots of the sentiments already in your stash.  I wanted to add a dear friend sentiment so added part of one from the other new sentiment set released this month - Sweet Plates Sentiments.

I wanted some flowers to decorate around the sentiment so reached for one of the lovely BotaniCuts range from The Greetery - one I've had since last year but not yet used - the fabulous HIbiscus.  I cut the flowers from lilac card and used the new inks from Concord and 9th to add some extra colour to the centres and edges.

The second card was acutally a happy accident - I messed up the sentiment on my friends card, so decided to cut out an extra sentiment panel.  I cut it from a slightly different shade of teal (the original is tidepool from Lawn Fawn) by just putting a scrap over that bit of the die then following the stitched line to cut out a panel.   I then stamped another sentiment from the same Lattice Panel set and used another dark teal ink to blend towards the centre on my base card - I felt it had a sympathy vibe that way to pair with the sentiment.  I opted for a few dots of liquid pearls on the joins in the panel die - but some enamel dots would do the same job.
