One Technique, One Design, Three Cards!

One Technique, One Design, Three Cards!

Happy Thursday!

I hope you are all well, dry & safe. It's been a soggy few days here in the NE of the UK, but at least it is good creating weather. Then again, isn't all weather good creative weather?!

Today I am sharing a colouring technique which has been revived and given a new catchy name, SWINKING!

Swinking is basically the direct ink pad to card, colouring technique. It's quick, fun and the results are different each time.

For my cards today I chose to use the SugarPea Designs Interlocking Circles Die, colours from the Concord & 9th Ink Cube Collection and a Happy Birthday sentiment from Concord & 9th Sew Simple stamp set. I kept the layout the same for all three cards, but switched up the combination of Swinking.

To start I trimmed two pieces of smooth white card to my top layer size (10 x 13.5 cm) and then selected a rainbow of colours from the C9 collection. To swipe across my card panel.

I used the cube inks for my cards as thats what I have. The larger pads would give a wider swipe. The juciness of your ink pad and type of ink is going to give you different results too, so have a play!

Once I had done the Swinking, it was time to die cut and assemble my cards.

This first one shows the Swinking with a full panel in a rainbow of colours.

This second is a little more subtle with the delicate die cut, cut from the Swinked panel.

I highlighted it with a black background so that it popped nicely.

And lastly I had fun piecing this one back together with the inlaid die cut technique!

I hope you've enjoyed this fun technique and give it a go :) Thanks for stopping by today.
