Rainbow Washi

Rainbow Washi

Good morning! I hope everyone is keeping safe and well. It's been a fairly dull, damp weekend here in North Wales, so I've been playing with some of my new washi tapes. I recently purchased some of the lovely rainbow washi tapes from Altenew, and I've made five cards using the lovely Geo Rainbow Washi Tape. This is a large tape measuring 108.5mm (4¼") across and it will easily cover the front of a UK A6 card and a US A2 card.

My first two cards are actually larger at 4½" x 6¼". I covered some lightweight white card with a long strip of the Geo Rainbow tape - I just love the rainbow blocks!! I cut the panel into two. I trimmed one piece by cutting off the white borders and then used Altenew's Fresh Freesia die to cut out a flower. I adhered the panel with the negative space to the front of a white card, and then stamped the Fresh Freesia outline image into the space. I used a black marker pen to draw a thin black border around the rainbow panel and finished this card by adding a sentiment from the stamp set to the bottom of the card. The next card used the die cut rainbow flower. I used my stamp positioner to stamp the flower onto the die cut panel. I used Stazon black ink for the image as it dries on slick surfaces. I used dimensional pads to adhere the image to the front of the card and finished by adding the birthday greeting from Fresh Freesia.

I used Concord & 9th's Say Hello dies to cut out the word 'hello' from the other piece of washi covered card. This die set cuts three different versions of the word hello - a large solid image that measures just over 5" (130mm) from end to end, a thin border cut around the edge of the large word that measures just 5¼" (133mm), and a thin  cut word which fits perfectly inside the solid image. I also die cut some hello words from black card.

This first card features the large solid Geo Rainbow washi covered 'hello' die. I made a subtle background on black card using Concord & 9th's Lovely Lattice Turnabout stamp. I stamped it in versamark ink and heat embossed with clear powder. After attaching the panel to the card, I added the rainbow hello and topped it with the thin black 'hello' die cut. The inside is blank for my message. I made a further three cards using the 'hello' die cuts. They are all clean and simple and showcase the 'hello' die cuts. I did add some words to each card from Concord & 9th's Say Hello stamps.

I made one extra card with the final black outline 'hello' die cut. I simply adhered it to the front of a card and stamped the large hello word image inside. I like ultra clean and simple card. It's going into my stash.

I hope you enjoyed seeing these cards. The large washi tape rolls from Altenew are a super way to give your dies a totally new look. That's all from me today. See you again next week.
