Shiny Birthday

Shiny Birthday

"Happy New Year!!". Deborah here with you this morning and I've got a shiny birthday card to share with you.

Over the holidays I've been going through my stash and organising my dies into Avery Elle Storage Pockets. It was fun and I rediscovered some of my older stash, including the lovely Double Cut Alphabet dies from Concord & 9th. I decided to make them the focal point of a simple birthday card. I die cut the letters to make up 'Happy Birthday' and used up lots of silver and holographic card scraps. I used a black card base and laid out the letters, but it looked too simple. So I went back to my stash and pulled out Altenew's A Splash of Color stamp set and stamped a few 'paint splashes' in white ink. I adhered the letters over the top and called it done. A clean, simple and very shiny birthday card.

For the inside, I cut a panel of white card slightly smaller than the black card base. I stamped a few more 'paint splashes', this time in silver, and finished by adding a simple sentiment. The sentiment comes from Altenew's Across the Pond stamp set. This is a wonderful set made especially for those of us in the UK who spell colour properly!! :) All the sentiments include UK spellings.

That's all from me today. See you again next week.

Deborah, x
