Smooshed Blooms

Smooshed Blooms

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Today I am sharing a quick colouring technique which I often turn to when I want lots of colour, but I either don’t have the patience or the time to sit and colour! I also incorporated a spotlight technique to add some subtle interest.

I was inspired to use the Reverse Confetti Bloom stamp set. I love the size and quirkiness of the flowers with this floral.

I started with two white card panels, 10.5 x 14cm in size. To stamp the floral I used my stamping tool, so that the position was the same on both panels, this is essential for the spotlight technique if you want the spotlight in a particular place.

To add the colour I used the smooshing technique. I took my largest acrylic block, added colour with some watercolour pens, you could use ink pads direct to the block too and then spritzed with water, swirled the block a little so the colours mixed and then smooshed it onto my card panel. I did this for both panels.

Once dry I die cut the tag shape from one panel using the All the Merry’s Die. As I didn’t use watercolour paper I did have my dry panels sit inside a heavy book overnight before assembling my card.

I trimmed the other panel slightly and adhered to my base card and then I added some twine to the top of my tag prior to adhering in place using foam adhesive. The sentiment is from Concord & 9th Delicate Blossoms and finally I finished with some clear Nuvo Drops.

That’s all from me this week.
