Spiderman

Spiderman

I've got a really quick and fun post today, using a die in a slightly unexpected way thanks to my husband.  When he spotted Spider Web Window die from Hero Arts he started to sing the spiderman theme tune as comics are his first love!   So - spider web to spiderman......

I die cut the web and frame from black card and popped out all the bits, then die cut just the frame from red card and layerd them up.

For his eyes, I got creative and used a leaf from Altenew's Adore You die but if you search your dies I bet you will find LOTS of similar teardrop shapes (leaves, candles etc).  I do sometimes flick through my dies and just look at the shapes to see if they can do more than they were designed for.  I cut one leaf 4 times, twice in black, twice in white - turning two over to the reverse gives you a pair of eyes.  I just trimmed the white one to be a bit smaller with scissors but you might find some dies have matching pairs that will fit on each other already in your stash.

The sentiment I printed on the computer and die cut using Lawn Fawn's Speech Bubble Dies - giving a comic book feel by colouring the border the die leaves in black with a marker.

The background candles are from the MFT Happy Birthday Candles set - stamped with versafine clair for a crisp bold finish.

Hopefully that's inspired you to "shape search" your dies to see if you can make them do more for you.

Catch you Sunday

Tara
