Starry Birthday

Starry Birthday

Good morning! Deborah here today. I’ve got a pretty birthday card to share that I made for an old friend of mine.

I’ve used products from Concord & 9th, Avery Elle, and Stamping Bella. I love missing products from different companies. I started by making the note card from heavy weight white card. It’s an A2 size (5½” x 4¼” – US size) card. I used Concord & 9th’s Star Turnabout stamp, which has a small centre stamp and a frame of stars to make the background. I stamped the stars in Versamark ink on all four turns and heat embossed them with clear powder. I then blended teal and purple inks over the card to reveal the white shiny stars. I kept the ink blend quite subtle. I used my stamp positioner to stamp Oddball Frida from Stamping Bella onto white card. I removed the card from my positioner and coloured the image with Copic markers. I replaced the image into the stamp positioner and restamped with black Versafine ink and heat embossed with clear powder to give a clean, crisp image. Next I added some sparkle to the flowers and hem of the dress. I used a purple glitter pen to colour the stripe on her blouse. I adhered the image to the card with dimensional pads. To finish the front of the card, I used Avery Elle’s Inside Birthday Greetings – which also has two simple ‘happy birthday’ messages – one large and one small.

For the inside, I cut a piece of white card to 5¼” x 4”. I used the smaller section from the Star Turnabout stamp to stamp some pale lilac stars on the card. I used a brush to add a touch of teal around the edge of the card. I finished the inside by stamping one of the verses from Avery Elle’s Inside Birthday Greetings. There are lots of super greetings in this set.

That’s all from me today. I’m hoping that the coming bank holiday weekend is a bit warmer and drier than the last one. See you next week.

Deborah, x
