Super Coffee!!

Super Coffee!!

I have a fun card for you today, it would be great to send to a coffee loving friend along with a gift card for their favourite coffee shop too.

I've had this little caped cup from Lil inkers for a while and when the speech bubble dies from Waffleflower came along I knew a shaped card was going to happen....

I used the largest speech bubble to make a card base by scoring the back panel and using glue tape to attach them together. I die cut the 'next size down' bubble and used the Radiating Halftone background with blue embossing powder to give me a comic book style backdrop... if you don't have coloured powder you can clear emboss over blue ink instead.

I blended blue ink through the Ray of Light stencil and then a lighter blue when the stencil was removed so the rays were not quite so bright white. The blue dots show through the ink especially after you buff off the excess ink on them afterwards.

The city skyline from Mama Elephant is designed for slimline cards which means you get a nice long run of buildings to layer for narrower cards... so not too much repetion but any similar die would work here. I used two shades of grey and added very loose low and highlights so not to add too much detail in the background. Our super hero is fun to colour, I had to give him red pants to match his cape! I stamped the wording onto a piece of pale grey card which had been cut using the edge of the scalloped die in the same Mama Elephant set.

I think a coffee shop giftcard inside will be perfect.... if I'd thought ahead I could have tucked it behind the city skyline

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
