Underwater Birthday

Underwater Birthday

Hey stampers, Anni here!

Today I have a birthday card that I made for a good crafty friend of mine! For crafty friends I tend to put a little extra afford into the card because I know they appreciate it.

I love all the sets with critters living in or at the ocean! I can never resist these sets and My Favorite Things' Best Fins is no exception. This octopus with glasses - so so cute!

So I started by stamping the images I wanted to use and coloured them with pencils. There are coordinating dies avaiable to cut out the critters.

To create the backgrounded ink blended shades of blues and turquoise on my cardstock panel. For a more organic look I added spritzers of water. With a little bit of white ink and a piece of scrap paper for masking I try to achieve the look of light rays.

As I made the card for a special friend I wanted to personalize the card by putting the name on it. I die cut the letters using Concord & 9th's Simple Serif Alphabet - it's one of my favourite alphabet die set.

To complete the sentiment I also heat embossed a Happy Birthday from Mama Elephant's Birthday Messages in white on a stripe of black cardstock.

I added some sequins as bubbles and that finished up my card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty weekend.

Anni
