Whale of a birthday

Whale of a birthday

I've got a punny card to share today - I love a punny sentiment and the Color Layering Orca from Hero Arts if packed with them!

This couldn't have been easier - the stamp has 3 layers to create the shading on the orca (I did add a tiny bit of shading with pencils as I wasn't happy with my base ink colour but you don't need to, I was just being too lazy to test my colour combo first!).  I cut him out with the matching die.

To create my background I used 3 shades of oxides to blend (prize ribbon at the bottom, peacock feathers in the middle and salvaged patina at the top)  I worked out where I wanted my whale and then used the shoal of fish stamp in the set multiple times to create a big shoal right across the card.  I glued him over top and finished with a sentiment from the set.   All my black stamping was done with versafine Clair nocturne as I find the versafine inks take best over oxides.

That's it today - quick and simple as we've got a lot on.

NEWS FROM THE STORE

We got the latest two releases from MFT yesterday - I'll be adding them to store asap.

No other new stock is due this week but we are busy ordering all the holiday releases that will be released thorughout August so watch the website for new arrivals from next week onwards.

In terms of order processing and admin this week, please bear with us if we're a little slow as my aunt (for whom we are the only support) is having knee surgery tomorrow so we will be busy running around sorting her after surgery care until she's more stable.   We'll do our best to ensure this has minimum impact on the business, but family comes first.   We appreciate your patience.

Thanks

Tara
