A Right Hoot

A Right Hoot

Quite a few weeks back I made a couple of cards using Avery Elle's Tag Topper dies and I thought I'd revisit this set for todays crafty blog post....

Now these owls were fun to colour with distress inks, I actually used two different shades of light brown card from my stash to cut them with although you dont actually see any of that showing! I also cut an owl face with a Post it note too so I could snip away the lower half of the face to make it into a mask when adding the darker browns above the eyes. I added a slightly darker shadow to the edges of the lower face and then using a dauber and white pigment ink I dabbed and twisted the dauber to make the circular eye areas.

I've used a banner and a pre sentiment from my stash along with the Mama Elephant Headliner Alpha dies for this punny sentiment, I snipped the 'o's in half so I could make them show more behind the owls head. I attached everything to a card base which has been stamped with the Scattered Triangles background stamp. I changed my mind on the orientation of this card base after stamping the background but it doesn't really matter with these little triangles... they still make a great backdrop in whichever direction :)

So Twit and Twoo ( yep I named them) are party ready with their little hats on. I also thought, looking at their little faces, how sweet they would be on a wedding card.... with a play on the wording "I do-oo" ..... what do you think? One with a top hat and the other a veil?

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
