Moon Baby

I've combined a few different products today to make a darling card to welcome a baby to the world, the sleeping baby in the Babysaurus stamp set looks so sweet and I thought he/she would be perfect slumbering on the Over the Moon dienamics.....
ahhh.. how cute!!
I started by using the starry background from Concord & 9ths Out of This World stamp set to make the background using silver ink on a navy card base. I didnt use it as a turnabout, just as a single layer to randomly stamp the night sky. I followed Jennifer Mcguires brilliant tutorial here to make this a pop box style card for a bit of dimension by adding a folded piece of card to the front which will fold upwards to flatten and fit in an envelope...
I cut two pieces of white card with a cloud edge, I used a Lawn Fawn set which is out of stock but this set from The Greetery would make a great alternative. I attached one cloud piece under the box and one on top which I had added a sentiment to using All Occasion Scripted Greetings. I adhered the baby to the moon and then attached it to the card.
The finishing touch is a glittery star to hang from the top of the moon which works well as the moon is sitting proud from the card base. I chose a star die from my stash that was symmetrical so I could cut two and attach them back to back and sandwich a piece of metallic thread between them before wrapping the other end around the tip of the moon and glueing in place. Just to balance the design I cut a thin cloud with my craft knife, as I didn't have a suitable die, and adhered it to the card base.
I love the way this card gives the design some interest and dimension but is still easy to send through the post, I'm sure there are lots of other themes and products you can think of using with this fun design too.
Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
