Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary

Morning! It's Deborah here with you today. How have you all been coping with the lockdown? I guess we all have our own ways of keeping sane and trying to create a routine. Like many crafters I've used the unexpected time to sort through my craft room and, at the weekend I actually refilled all my Copic markers - definitely a lockdown job!! Anyway, enough of that, today I'm sharing a bold, bright anniversary card with you. It might not be what you'd expect, but I like it and, as it's going to be given to Jonathan and me today, I thought I'd make a card that we liked!!

So, I'll explain. My mum lives with us and she asked if I had any anniversary cards in my stash. I didn't, so I said I'd make her one. Mum laughed and said that she thought it was weird having me make my own anniversary card. But I had a blast!! I used Concord & 9th's Stripes and Sayings stamps for the front of the card. I stamped the stripes in bold black ink and used a heat gun to make sure the ink was dry before moving on. I used the heart strip stamp in the set to stamp between the black lines - I used a variety of inks, but they are all bold and bright. I cut a panel of black card to go at the bottom of the card and stamped a simple greeting which I embossed with white powder. Adding the black card panel does make it look as though it's a black card, but it was white and I simply added black stripes! Oh, and bright, colourful hearts.

On the inside, I cut a mat layer of black card and on the white card added a simple greeting using Avery Elle's Sentimental Too stamps. There are lots of words in this set making it extremely versatile and useful to have in your stash. I finished the inside by adding a fun image from Lil Inkers (sadly now discontinued).

Well, that's all from me today. Keep safe and keep crafting. I'll see you again next week.

Deborah, xx
