Reading is a gift to be shared

Today I am sharing a super cute card that also bares a gift.  The Slow Down and Enjoy stamp set from Lawn Fawn is really cool, because not only can you get matching dies to cut the Elephant and Sloths fronts and butts, you can also get a die set to make them into shaped bookmarks that hug the page!

I used the stamp set to stamp out the front and behind of the Elephant onto Neenah cardstock using Lawn Fawn's Jet black ink for alcohol markers, I then coloured the image with my alcohol markers (I think I'm getting better with them)

I cut the stamped images out using the coordinating and then cut the bookmark element from 250gsm cardstock. I used one of the stamps from the set to add a little sentiment and then blended some lemon ink around the edges.

I adhered the die cut Elephant pieces to the bookmark making sure to leave the front legs free from adhisive, so that they can hug the page. I put together a simple card using some patterned paper from my stash and decided where I wanted the bookmark to be attached. Using a screw punch I made 2 little holes and threaded some baby pink bakers twine and tied a bow. Underneath the bottom of the bookmark I added a removable glue dot to keep it straight.

I love to read and thougth it would be nice to share a bookmark with a dear friend. Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by, I'll be back next week with more inspiration.
