What's New in Store plus Scary Movies!

Our lockdown routine saw us turning Saturday nights into a regular movie night and it's become quite a ritual.  So I thought it would be fun to send Rick a card to tell him how much I love snuggling up on the sofa watching movies - especially scary movies as I mostly hide in his armpit for those!   I thought the Picture Perfect die from Avery Elle looked like part of a movie reel, so I combined that with some mummies from Mama Elephant on vellum for my very own scary movie!   A few "slasher" strips from the Torn Strips Stencil from Sugar Pea designs and my own sentiment - et voila, a very unusual love you card!

I made the film strip longer by adding to the top of bottom so it would fill the whole length of the card and then stamped the mummies onto vellum using Stazon Piano Black as that's the perfect ink to stamp on non-porous surfaces.  To colour the cells I turned the vellum over and coloured behind - that way it won't bleed or smudge and then glued them in place.

To create the sentiment I die cut some letters from grey card and embossed the bottom half of each by holding with tweezers, pressing onto my versamark pad and dipping into some opaque red powder for that dipping blood effect.   The rest of the setiment I wrote by hand but you would print from a computer or use small stamps if you don't like handwriting on your cards.

To give that slasher look I used the new torn strips stencil from Sugar Pea Designs, blending Candied Apple Oxide ink with a detail ink blending tool having masked off my film strip first.

All the little agenda stamps would fit in the film cells, so you could make any "movie" if you don't want to go scary!

NEWS FROM THE STORE

We're still playing catch up on the releases we received last week so will be working on the Ranger release today (might not be in store today as it takes a LONG time to open and sort all those fiddly little bottles that come in a big mixed bag!)

There is a new release from MFT on Tuesday which is in transit so fingers crossed we'll get it tomorrow and I'll do my VERY BEST to get it in store for release time but it might be a few hours late depending on how many orders I have to pack tomorrow!

The new releases from Colorado Craft Company are hopefully shipping on Monday so we should receive them this week too.

Concord and 9ths COLOR release has finally arrived at C9 HQ and that will also be shipping early this week - 10 large boxes of it!    So keep an eye out on the website as we expect it fly out fast again!!!!    We have the mixed color cube packs (not available indicvidually), Full sized pads and reinkers (only indivually), Mixed card packs and individual colour card packs.   They have a new release on the 9th and the updated Take A Bough is part of it and will be coming sometime after the 15th October.

We're ordering the latest Waffle Flower Crafts release today and that should ship later this week.   We've also got an order to complete for Altenew some of which has already been released, some which is to be released later in October.

We already have an order in for Mama Elephant's new release on the 15th and quite a lot of restocks, but unfortunately none of the September release was back in stock when we ordered so that won't be back until November.
