Inky Backsides!

Inky Backsides!

I've got a technique to share today that helps with quick "colouring" for symetrical stamps and the new Frankly Mini Stamp from Colorado Craft Company is the perfect candidate for my inky backside technique!

I've used just one stamp and 2 inks for this card, I started with the sentiment and then stamped Frank all over the card in Versafine Clair Nocturne for a good strong black stamped image.

Once this was complete, I just wiped the stamp clean, turned it over so the "face" was stuck to my block and then I inked up the "flat side" with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide and stamped over the black faces.   You get a little border but I like that effect.   If you wanted you can carefully trim the edge of the rubber to get it closer to the lines (I did in a few places).   It works well on floral images but the closer to symetrical the image is the better as otherwise something that sticks out on the left of your "stamped side" will be on the right on the "flat side".

Hope this encourages you to shop your stash and see what images you can get inky on the backside too.
