Hello... I'm back to thank you cards today and I've kept it Clean & Simple by making the sentiment the focus on this pretty tartan backdrop....

I've used Altenew's Tartan stamp to make the background, a great set that allows you to make tartan in any colour combo you desire and it's very easy to use too. I started by stamping the main grid in a dark purple ink and then the sqares in pink and lilac following a checkerboard pattern. You get a square of diagonal lines which you can use to over stamp the solid squares for some texture. I broke up the pinks and purples with a bright blue using the long diagonal stiched patterns. For the lettering I've used Waffleflowers Retro Outline Alpha and cut into the panel using the outline part of the letters. I used a piece of purple card to place behind the tartan backdrop and used foam pads to attach it along with the letters which are cut with white card...... I love the floating effect :)

Just to add a contrasting edge I used the thin strip dies from Waffleflowers Twine and bows die to make a couple of narrow purple borders for the top and bottom of the piece... I think they help frame the lettering.
