Thanks Sampler

Thanks Sampler

Hi there, for todays card I've revisited a fab die set from Concord & 9th called Sew Lovely and made a sampler style design as a thank you card....

I've kept the colour palette soft and pastel and used an older chevron style patterned paper pad to cut the thread for my spools. The large pinked square is cut using textured paper... a bit like watercolour paper, which gives a faux fabric look. I cut three sets of buttons in blue and used a real needle and thread to sew through the centre holes and popped a pin through the slots at the top of the square...

The pins have a good blob of dimensional glaze onto the heads to make them shiny and round and it took me a while to work out how to position them into the design.... in fact the whole thing took a while to play around with! It was a last minute decision to add the needle and thread which I think balances up the pattern with that horizontal line :)

I tucked the sentiment into the layout and kept it simple...... oh and I like the pun too :)

Thanks for stopping by today, catch you next week :)
