Shark Tank

Shark Tank

I've got a satirical take on lockdown today - I think we all feel a bit trapped inside still despite the gentle return to a new normal so I thought it would be a fun take on it to pop the new large shark from MFT into their re-released fish bowl. The bowl is a really large die so great for making a shaped card which always amazes non-crafting recipients!

This is a really easy thing to do if you've never made a shaped card before - all you do is hang the die slightly over the folded edge of your base card and run it through the machine. You then cut another full blank and glue that to the front to complete the shape with the folded version behind.

For the front of the card the Fishbowl Die does all the heavy lifting it has a shape for the warter, leaves, (fish if you want to swap out the shark), rocks, sand and even bubbles!   I just used the water and some leaves to add interest behind my shark.

For the shark itself I die cut it from grey shimmer card and added some dots with a black and white gel pen just for some added interest.  The mouth and teeth come separately so you can play around with colour combos for his big teethy grin!   I die cut the bown again from acetate - tricky to glue down but I just used a single line of glue along the botton so it disappears into the white base, and then added a line of glue behind the sentiment.   That's just enough to hold it down without glueing it all around.   The sentiment comes from the complementary stamp set sharky sentiments.

Hope you like my fun take on lockdown and it made you smile too!

See you Sunday.
