Quick One-Layer Cards

Quick One-Layer Cards

Good morning! I hope you all enjoyed last week's special about the Colorado Craft Company. I'm back today with several very quick and easy cards - all one-layer. I've used Concord & 9th stamps to make some encouragement cards and a couple of Christmas cards. I'll start with a larger (4½" x 6¼") card:

For this card I used the hexagon stamp from Concord & 9th's Painted Shapes stamp set for the background and used a selection of warm ink shades. I used Painted Sayings for the words. This set contains three large sentiments and several smaller word groups. As well as finishing the message on the inside of the card, I added a few more hexagons.

The next three cards are all on cream cardstock - just for a change, and because I've got lots in my stash to use up!!

In all cases, I stamped the large background shapes from Painted Shapes and then added accents using smaller images from the set. The triangle and circle make a big, bold sun and the sentiment from Painted Sayings is a perfect match. The other two cards use the square and rectangle from Painted Shapes along with the arrow chevron, and the other two bold sentiments from Painted Sayings. In all cases, the inside of the card is blank for my message. These cards were so quick and easy to make that I decided to have a go at a couple of Christmas cards using the same sets. The first card is ultra clean and simple:

I used my stamp positioner for this card as I wanted to make sure that the stamped border was straight! I used the arrow chevron from Painted Shapes in red and green to create the stripe. To complete the card I used Concord & 9th's All the Merrys; this set contains about seven different versions of the words 'Merry Christmas' and I like the simplicity of the font with this stamped border.

My last card is another clean, simple Christmas card. I used the large rectangle from Painted Shapes in a soft grey for the background and created the bold greeting with the two-step 'Merry Christmas' stamp from All the Merrys. To complete the card I used the little snowflake (confetti) stamp to add bright snowflakes around the greeting. All six cards were made in under an hour - something of a record for me!

That's all from me today. Have a good week. Be safe.
