Shine Like a Diamond

Shine Like a Diamond

Morning everyone! Hope you're all keeping well and getting used to the new regulations about going out, etc. Being in Wales, we still have to stay at home, so I've been making lots of cards to share with you today. I recently got Altenew's Shine Like a Diamond stamp set. I thought that the geometric background would be very versatile, and it is! I've got four cards to share with you, and this is the first:

I stamped the large geometric pattern using Versamark ink and heat embossed with white powder. I used water colour markers to create a rainbow background which allows the embossed pattern to show through. I cut a wide stripe of vellum onto which I stamped the sentiment in Versafine ink and embossed it with clear powder. I wrapped the vellum around the water colour panel, and adhered it to some black card. I then adhered the whole panel to the front of a 6¼" x 4½" card. I finished the front by adding some gems. On the inside, I cut a mat layer of black card and on the white panel I finished the sentiment. I also added a strip of the patterned watercolour card, and edged it with a thin strip of black card.

The next card combines this stamp set with Concord & 9th's Shine On stamp set and the matching Shine On dies.

I used a stamp positioner for this card. I stamped the geometric image in pale grey ink on white card, took it out of the positioner, coloured with Copic markers and a glitter pen, repositioned the coloured image, stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with silver powder. This gives a lovely crisp finish to the image. I adhered the panel to a soft grey side opening 5½" x 4¼" card. I made the word 'shine' using Concord & 9th's Shine On dies. I diecut the shadow in vellum and used dark grey and dark yellow for the main word. I adhered the words together, covered with sparkle and some glossy accents. I used the shadow stamp from Concord & 9th's Shine On stamp set in dark grey on the vellum, attached the die cut word and adhered the whole lot to the card. I finished the front with a greeting from Altenew's Shine Like a Diamond. On the inside, I cut a panel of white card and used stamps from Concord & 9th's Shine on stamp set. I love mixing images from different companies!

My next two cards have a festive theme. I used the diamond geometric stamp to create lots of different card panels in different inks and with different finishes. I have one inkpad that works particularly well for Christmas cards. I used Concord & 9th's Joyful Noel dies to cut out letters from the patterned background. For the cards themselves, I used C&9 Joyful Noel stamps to make the text background on one card and on the other I used Altenew's Majestic Mistletoe stamps for the background.

The inside of each card is reasonably simple, just using the two sets mentioned above:

Thank you for sticking with me through this marathon post! I think you can see that Altenew's Shine Like a Diamond is a such a versatile stamp set, and I know you're going to see more cards from me using it. That's all for now, keep safe. See you next week.
