Betterpress Look from Dies

My video on how to get a betterpress look without a betterpress machine is my most popular ever video so I thought I'd have another go today at a betterpress style card but just using standard supplies. No video as the weather is awful today and the light just wasn't good enough to shoot a video.

All I've used today is the new Giant Sending Love Die from Lawn Fawn, and the Dynamic Duo Paradise Flower Stencil from Altenew along with some inks.

I started with a panel of cream card, my die cut machine, the die and my magnetic platform. I popped the die onto the platform and gently tapped some versafine ink over it, taped my card in place and ran it through my machine with a crease pad topped with one cutting plate. This gave a letterpress style inked impression. You could leave it there and have a really simple card (perfect to make a set of notecards as a gift as the sentiment can be used for lots of ocassions).

I decided to add die cut detail to it - so I used the same die as a die from some more cream card and coloured the bit I wanted to die cut with a marker - you could just use coloured card but I was being lazy and using just what I had to hand. I used the same marker to edge more cream card to make a matt layer behind my sentiment panel. Once I'd glued the letters in place I moved on to the stencil.

I just used the corner flowers and edge leaves to build up some interest in the empty space around the sentiment. inking them with Lilac and Grape Soda and Eucalyptus and Rainforest from Concornd and 9th. The latter two colours are from the new colour release which will be back in stock by the middle to the end of the week depending on how long it takes to clear customs.

I'm really pleased with the results so might make a set in different colours to make a gift pack.
