Sorry to bring up the theme of rain on this Bank Holiday Monday but I've made an encouragement card today using an umbrella die from Concord & 9th's Rain or shine set and it has no mention of rain at all......

Umbrella's work well for this type of card, being both helpful and reliable when needed but instead of using the coordinating stamp set I found a great sentiment in an MFT stamp set. For the brolly, I die cut a white and navy layer then used the larger flower die to cut shapes into the blue umbrella. Once I had layered them up I cut smaller flowers with pink gingham patterned paper to place into the floral spaces. I added a trim in the same pink paper then cut white bobbles from a white trim to add separately....

I attached the brolly to a textured panel of white card along with a grey handle and then stamped the sentiment in navy ink onto light grey card..... I tucked the strip of grey card into the curve of the handle. The white bobbles looked a bit stark and flat so I used white liquid pearls to make them more of a bead shape which works quite well.

I think this set would work well for get well soon cards as well as baby shower cards... or perhaps showering somebody with love! It's fun to decorate your own brolly with colour and patterns :)
