Double rainbows

Double rainbows

Deborah is taking a break this week as she had a major technology failure but she'll be back next week, so I've finished the card I didn't manage to finish for Wednesday's post today instead!

When looking for something else at the weekend, I found my roll of graph die cut tape from Altenew and it gave me an idea - not to use the tape as tape, but to use it as a stencil for a fun rainbow background of tiny squares.  So I ran two strips of tape across the card (overlapping them in the middle to keep the gaps the same, and then used oxide inks to blend a rainbow across the card.  [If you take care, you can remove the tape and stick it back on and do another couple of cards before it becomes unsticky]   The tape is in the sale currently too!

I decided to make a double-rainbow card by adding a sun and rainbow design on top using Waffle Flowers Happy Rainbow Die set - die cut from white and used the same colours to colour the rainbow and sun.  A layer of glitter paper added extra happy to the clouds.

The sentiment is made from MFT's Connected Die Cut, with hand drawn lettering done with a white pencil ontop, covered in glossy accents.   You could use the matching stamp to do this, but it was an afterthought and I'd already glued it on so pencil was easier for me this time!  It's paired with a sentiment taken from The Greetery's Pre-Text Sentiment set.  I added a thin strip of card to the top and bottom to match the die cut sentiment and added a few dots of waterfall stickles to add to the bling as I was in a sparkly mood!

Hope that gives you some new techniques to try.

Catch you on Sunday

Tara
