Sending Hugs & Snuggles

Sending Hugs & Snuggles

Hi, Terri here! Today I am sharing a card that uses the Craft Your Life - Fragrant Florals kit and Wild Leopard Stencil from Altenew. If you haven't seen or heard about the Craft Your Life kits here's a little bit of information about them... The kit's include a 6"x8" stamp set, a 6"x6" embossing folder, a matching die set and a stencil set.  The kit allows you to create numerous combinations by mixing and matching th ediffernt elements.

I started by stamping the floral image onto 80lb super smooth white cardstock using a black pigment ink. I then used the coordinating stencils to add colour to the image. I used the Spring Bouquet Crisp Dye Inks,  This stencil set has 4 stencils that allow you to colour individual petals and leaves, it isnt a layering set. To achieve the look of having used a layering set, I used multiple shades of ink. I started by inking the petals and leaves fullt using the lightest shade then inking approximatly half way using a medium shade and then adding a small amount of the darkest shade nearest to the centre of the petals and to the ends of the leaves nearest to the stems.

I wanted to add some texture to the image so added it to the matching embossing folder and run in through my die cutting machine. It's really easy to line up the the stamped image into the embossing folder. I then used the coordintaing die to cut it. To create the background, I used the Wild Leopard stencil and some black ink onto a super smooth cardstock. I trimmed the stenciled background to measure 4"x5.25" and foam mounted it to an A2 card blank. I then added the floral elemnt, again using foam pads. I stamped one of the snrtiments from the kit and adde it to the card. Lastly I used some Glossy Accents to create some little dew drops.
