Bon Voyage

Bon Voyage

Hey there, Terri here! Today I am sharing a Beach themed card using the new Build A House Beach House Add-On Die from the recent Lawn Fawn release.

I started by die cutting all the required components from the Build A House Die and Build A House Beach House Add-On Die. I cut from coloured cardstock to make the process quicker, this way I only needed to add shading with a grey alcohol marker. I adhered all of the parts using a strong glue, I like to use wet glue for this as it gives me a little time to wiggle the part into place and sets nice and strong.

Next I used the Hammock and Trees die set to cut two Palm Tress, again I used coloured cardstock and added some alcohol marker shading. I then used the Sunray Background Stencil to create the sky in the background of my scene. I used yellow and pink and allowed them to blend to give a peachy colour in places.

Using the Slimline Stitched Hillside Boarders I cut a piece of beige card to act as the sand, I added some light brown ink blending and then some brown and white inky splatter for added detail. I also used a wave die to cut some water for the sea and added blue and white inky splatters. I cut all of the background and layers using the largest die from the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables, this gives a nice stitched edge to everything.

Before putting the card together I added a stamped sentiment to the sea using Henry Jrs ABCs Stamp Set, I decided to use a blue ink as I thougth black would look to stark against the pastle colours of the card.

I used a mix of glue and foam tape to put the scene together, I added some little grassy pieces in places and also tied some thin twine to the anchor to look like rope, I love how cute that looks. Lastly I placed the die cut panel onto a white A2 notecard.

The Build A House Die is a really fun adition to my crafty stash, Lawn Fawn have released Add-Ons for Christmas, Halloween, spring and there's even a gingerbread add on. You can have so much fun creating little villages on slimline cards too.

I hope you've enjoyed today's post, thanks for stopping by.
