A Basket Full of Care

A Basket Full of Care

I've exhausted my supply of get well cards recently so I thought I'd make another to add to my stash for today's blog post.  I had the fabulous Primrose Garden Die on my desk already as I'm working on a commission for Die Cutting Essentials using it which will be out in a couple of months so I thought I'd use that as flowers are perfect for a get well card.

I wanted to try something different with it, without using the "base" die, so I just used some scraps from my scrap box to cut out the leaves and flowers and berries and decided to stuff a basket with them.  The Seagrass Basket is from the latest release by The Greetery and is really fun - you weave the two sides together to create the basket and you can do a single side as I have here, or create a double sided basket with an opening (try our velcro dots) as its perfectly sized to hold a gift card.  I cut it from kraft card and added some soft shading with scorched timber before weaving it together.   From then it was just a case of slotting the flowers"into" the basket.  Some behind, some in front to make it look really full.  I taped the bottom of the basket onto the card front with doublesided tape and left the top and sides unfixed.  Added the "behind" flowers then glued down the sides and top and added more flowers and leaves over.

The sentiment panel is in the basket die set and I added one of the new sentiments from All Occassion Script Sentiments also from The Greetery matching the colour to the poppy.  I picked colours I can see from the flowers currently popping up in our garden so it feels quite Spring-like.

I have more ideas for the basket die so I'll be back with those in another post.

NEWS FROM THE STORE

The Greetery restocks along with a few new items that were delayed from last month's release will be here tomorrow we think so watch the store for the lilacs as we've had a tonne of restock requests for them so think they will sell out pretty quickly again.

We will also be implementing some changes to our delivery options this week.  As I'm sure you are aware Royal Mail prices are due to increase again in a couple of weeks - we have not increased our prices since 2019 and have absorbed all the price increases since then.  However due to changes in their delivery, we are now going to switch to tracked deliveries only in the UK as tracked mail gets priority even in areas which get "irregular" normal deliveries.  You will therefore now have an option to select Tracked24 or Tracked48 (the latter will be cheaper but slower) on all UK orders.  We're still working on the details, but as always will do our very best to keep the costs as low and as fair as we can but in order to remain in business in these difficult financial times, we can no longer absorb the increases as we're already paying more to ship every order than we charge you.   We hope you will understand the need for these changes therefore.

We'll be sending a newsletter out with full details as soon we've got all the techie bits sorted.

Happy Crafting
