Lovely Pinks

Lovely Pinks

For todays card I'm back with a floral theme and I've used a couple of stamp sets from Flora & Fauna which are in the SALE section of the website to make carnations, or Pinks as they're sometimes called....

The Mini Brush Petal set has a couple of shapes to use for flower making and I started to experiment with colours using different inkpads.... adding two shades onto the stamp before making an impression. You can carefully use the edge or corners of inkpads to add extra colours and a damp cloth to remove any unwanted colour. I tried a few different colours and then used scissors to cut these flowers out. The Brush Petal 2 set had a leaf that was the best shape for Pinks so I used a couple of shades of grey/green to stamp a few out and used scissors again to trim them out.

To add just a bit of extra depth I used a couple of pink Polychrome pencils to add some definition around the tips and centres of the petals as well as the centre of the blooms. I did the same for the leaves... not much pencil at all but just enough to lift the image. I arranged the flowers, making space to stamp a greeting and then added the scalloped panel onto a card base that I had scored with a few vertical lines.

I'm quite pleased how they turned out, not bad for a little play with inks and stamps ..... and in the sale too, don't forget to check out the SALE section to find yourself a bargain :)

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
