Watercolour Hello

Watercolour Hello

Good morning all! I hope you're all keeping safe and well. I had such a fun day yesterday, I was finally able to get to the hairdresser and get my hair cut short! Feels great. I also made a card for my son Ben. Here it is:

I used Waffle Flower's Simply Said 1 stamps to create my own background. I used Tim Holtz's Watercolour card stock. I used a stamp postioner to create the background, although you could easily do something with a more random background and stamp with a block. I stamped the images with Versamark ink, covered with White embossing powder and then heat set to create the pattern. I covered the card with water and added watercolour ink directly, allowing the water to spread and blend the colours. I love this effect and the way the pattern is revealed when you add colour!

Once dry, I wiped over the card to remove any ink from the white embossed pattern. I finished the front by adding a simple 'hello' diecut. I used the matcing Waffle Flower Simply Said 1 dies and cut three 'hello' words from black card. I used the matching 'hello' word image stamped it in Versamark and heat embossed with White powder. I glued the three diecuts together to give the word some dimension and adhered it to the centre of the card.

I have left the inside blank for my message to Ben - it's winging its way to him as you read this post. That's all from me today. See you next week.
