Greetings from the Couch

Greetings from the Couch

I've been having fun with some interior design on my card today!! I love all the furniture and home decor dies from MFT in one of there recent kits and couldn't wait to have a play :)

There are so many combinations with all these dies and that's before deciding on colours and patterns... oh what to choose!! I started off by finding some patterned paper in my stash for a funky wallpaper.... isn't it fab, quite retro. I cut the sofa in a pale aqua blue and the legs in dark brown which I also used for the tall shelf unit. I used one of the squares as a cupboard door by adding a tiny circle of gold for a handle and adhered it back into the base square of the unit.

I die cut a few of the exta decor pieces for the shelving unit and a big cheese plant to stand on the floor. I had fun making some art work for the walls by stamping patterns with small basic shapes.... the space is very small so they had to be simple. When I'd collated all the pieces it was time to assemble my room :) I started by attaching the wallpaper to a piece of card and ink blending a biege carpet with Frayed Burlap Distress ink. It was at this stage I decided to cut the piece into a semi circle and then added all the furniture and decor pieces, remembering to leave space for the sentiment. Before attaching it to a card base I thought it would be fun to make that semi circle shaped too and I'm pleased I did as it works so well.

It's fun designing your own coordinated home decor and a lot easier using coloured card and ink too :)

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
