Closing Out Colorado Craft Company Week

Closing Out Colorado Craft Company Week

I've got 9 cards to share today to close out our week of highlighting Colorado Craft Company.

First off I've made a simple one layer card featuring one of the Anita Jeram designs - having had cats I can so identify with this Christmas conundrum of how to keep them off the tree!

It's simply stamped and coloured with pencils but I used a trick to help make the colouring quick - two coloured stamping of the base image so the branches were stamped in green to give me a head start.   I ended up with a green tail on the cat but that's easily fixed with a black pencil or fineliner.

For my second card I used an older stamp - but I just adore these bears in their winter sweaters.

The background is stamped using Avery Elle's new Nordic Patterns stamp and they are sat on the grounding elements die from the latest MFT card kit release - probably one of the most useful sets they've ever released!   The trees are also from the kit - the Tiny Houses die.   The sentiment is from the Christmas Tree Cat stamp.

My final "new" card make features another older stamp from the Lovely Legs range - this time Mommy Kissing Santa.

I know some people don't get the "legs only" concept, so if you don't like the idea of a headless image - I have some tricks for using them.   Here I've used an element associated with the stamp to "conceal" the lack of heads.  I've used the MFT Mistletoe Kisses die as if I'm hiding the kiss.   The image was coloured with watercolour pencils, some blended with water, some just used as pencils.

For the final 6 cards, I'm sharing cards I made for a magazine last year that I couldn't share for a while after publication.  This was a feature for mens cards and I used different techniques with the legs only stamps so hopefully it gives you more ideas for how to use them.

For the first one - I cut out the legs of one of the runners from Runsational and used the image to replace the letter "I" in the sentiment.

For the second I used a cloud so it looks as though the man having a bad day is running into it.

The third card is just tightly cropped into a circle shape with a sentiment shaped around it - the legs work really well for cropped techniques.  Here I used Tee-rific Dad

For the 4th card I used cropping again but this time into a framed background using Best Life stamp for the image.

For the guy on the BBQ, my concealment was hand-drawn - I just extended the smoke so his head is "lost" in it.

Finally one of the more challenging images was the guy on the lounger as there is image above his head - so here the trick is crop the image off the edge.

OK so that brings the week to a close - hope it drew the brand to your attention and gave you sets to add to your wishlists!.

You still have time to win the stamps I used in day one - you just need to comment on every post in our celebration week to be put in the draw.  It will close on WEDNESDAY 4TH NOVEMBER.
