Autumnal Berries

Autumnal Berries

I'm using a small stamp set this week that is actually intended for Christmas but as you can see it definitely works for the autumn months too....

I actually think the berries in this stamp set look like those from a Rowan Tree/Mountain Ash and they can be red, orange or yellow. Ours in the garden has lots of bright orange berries and they never last the winter if the blackbirds and thrushes have anything to do with it! I stamped out the berries and branch on scrap paper then added one of the leaf images too. I roughly cut around this image so I could use it to work out placement of the images as I went along.

When the ink had dried I used Polychrome pencils to add shadow and lowlight detail to the berries and leaves... it just helps to define them and give them shape. The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed in white on brown card which I attaced across the top of the card base. Just to tone down the bright white base I used a blender brush to apply Old Paper distress ink around the edges of the card.

As much as I love the summer I do look forward to the warm colours of autumn and this card embraces just that :)

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)
