Colourful Beetles

Colourful Beetles

Hello there,

I've made a card which would be suitable for Fathers Day next month using a Christmas die!!.... come and see...

The Christmas Car set from Sugarpea Designs is not just for Christmas as the name suggests and I've taken it out for an arty spin on this card to show you...

The replica VW Beetle is a separate die in the set and I've cut it from several different square pieces of coloured card. I adhered four of the backgrounds to a card panel and then just layered the pieces back in like a jigsaw, swapping different elements of the cars to mix the colours and create a Pop Art style.

I made a 5x7" card base so I could use the large Headliner Alphas to spell out DAD and a smaller sentiment from Greatest Hits, also from Sugarpea designs.

I do love that colour punch from the square panel of cars but if thats too bright for you, perhaps my second card will be more your thing....

Whilst searching through my card scraps for the above design, I found some patterned papers to team up with pastel card for a totally different look..... this card is more for the ladies ;)

I used the same size format but this time swapped the patterns and plains and used grey card for the tyres and bumpers.... the metallic sheen is from a silver gel pen. I decided to not add a sentiment so it could be used for any occasion.

This die set is definitely for all round year use, the die even cuts and scores the card so the car door opens and the presents could double up as birthday gifts which can be stacked inside or on top of the car..... how would you use it?

Thanks for stopping by, catch you next week :)

Jenny x
