Painted Peony Wishes

Painted Peony Wishes

Morning all!

When I started cardmaking some twenty odd years ago, my first love was always pretty patterned paper.

Over the years, I've managed to tame my paper-purchasing addiction a little and channelled it into another healthy obsession: stamps and dies.

But I still love combining my often vintage patterned paper collection with statement pieces like the florals in the Painted Peony set from Concord & 9th.

The only thing is, I often struggle with how to arrange floral die-cuts to create a balanced look. So I'm always grateful when a manufacturer includes some ideas in the packaging, and you don't have to go hunting online for a guide - especially for how to layer the stamps.

I was also inspired by the suggested colour combination, so thought I might as well give it a go, as you really can't go wrong with blush tones and a hint of aqua.

In fact, I had just the papers in my stash to complement this look and let the peony shine, so I used those as the backdrop to my card.

Once all the Painted Peony elements were arranged just how I wanted them, I used the Press n Seal trick to hold everything in place, so I could add glue to the elements and dimension where I wanted it, building up layers with scrap pieces of cardstock instead of foam tape.

To complete the look, I stamped a sentiment from the Painted Peony set on one of the Sentiment Suite Basics dies from The Greetery and added a touch of sparkle with coordinating sequins.

Until next time, happy crafting!
