The Season In-Between!
Hello & Happy Thursday.
Today I have two simple cards that cover those in-between season days. Where you’re not quite sure how to dress, as one minute the sun is out in full summer mode and then next minute you feel the crispness of autumn!
I was inspired to dust off my Altenew \ Hero Arts Bloom & Grow stamp set for the two card ideas I had. First up I chose the sunny summer part of the day and used Distress Oxides in Festive Berries, Spiced Marmalade, & Fossilised Amber to ink blend a background.
The bloom is stamped in VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink & I fussy cut along the petals for added interest, adhering to my base using foam adhesive. I really like the sentiments and mix and match font in this set to.
For my second card I used some more autumnal colours, along with a bit of an ink blending brush swiping technique. Similar results to the ink pad swiping technique, ‘swinking’ I did a few weeks ago.
This time I used Walnut Stain, Forest Moss, Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide colours and I love how quick & simple it was to do and the result is pretty effective too. Again I stamped the leaf image from the set in VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink, purposefully overlapping the leaves to get that autumnal leaf pile feeling.
Just the two simple cards from me this week. Its been a pretty hectic back to school and 7th birthday prep kinda week for my twin boys!
