Organic Cherry Blossom
As we just got the new release from Waffle Flower in store today, I thought I'd make a quick card using the brand new Organic Frame die as paired with last months' Little Branch die it makes the perfect cherry blossoms ready for spring.
I die cut the organic frame from a panel of plain card and then used my Shader Brushes to ink blend for some soft spring green colour (using oxides in twisted citron, peeled paint and rustic wilderness). I die cut the frame again from some copy paper to make a stencil and used that to blend some rustic wilderness onto my cream base card so the die cut holes showed up better and to give a soft stippled shading effect to the inside of the frame.
To decorate the frame I die cut the flowers that are included with it and used my brushes again to add colour using tattered rose and saltwater taffy for that soft cherry blossom look. I then die cut the little branches dies twice each and again used the same colours to shade them - adding a tiny bit of picked raspberry to the bottoms of the buds.
The sentiment is stamped with versafine clair rainforest and is taken from Concord and 9ths Pop Up Par-tay stamp as I thought the shape fitted well in the space in the frame.
Hope you like it - I can see me using the frame die often as it's a lovely elegant shape and the inner bit might well be making an appearance on Sunday....
