Garden Goodness

Garden Goodness

Morning all!

I'm back with another project featuring a favourite retiring set from The Greetery.

Yes, Garden Goodness - one of my all-time favourite sets in the Print Shop series - is now retiring... But I hope that means there will be new Print Shop sets in the near future!

I often reach for the Garden Goodness stamp and stencil set to make lovely and colourful backgrounds for cards.

I especially love using it with coloured cardstock, like pale pink as in this case, to make the sentiment pop even more.

There are coordinating dies available – one to add layers to some of the elements in the design, and another that cuts the stencilled design into individual pieces.

Today I've kept things simple, and only used the layering stencils and stamps to create the background in some pretty and happy colours.

The stencil guide included is really helpful when picking your colour palette for the different layers.

Here I've used three shades of green in the same colour family, then lighter and darker tones of the other colours for the various elements.

As with other sets in the Print Shop series, I love how quickly the stencil layers come together to create a background. You can use regular sized blending brushes for each stage, or use smaller detail brushes for things like the berries.

Once my background was done, I trimmed it down slightly to add it to a kraft cardbase.

You can get some really different looks by combining the stencilled background with a large and bold sentiment, or something clean and minimal.

But I love any opportunity to enjoy the best of both worlds, so a sentiment that already contains a mix of clean and fancy fonts and can be cut out in one pass goes right to the top of my list.

Which is why I had to snag the new Sign Off Sentiments and matching dies from the latest release from The Greetery. Love is definitely in the air with the Love Letters P.S. collection, but this sentiment set is a really versatile one and the sentiments work beautifully on their own or can be easily combined with others.

And there we have it, definitely a clean and simple make, but sure to brighten someone's day.

Until next time, happy crafting!
